- If you create an account or use a paid plan, we collect account information, usage analytics, and document metadata needed to run the service.
- We do not sell personal data.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account email and password when you sign up or log in.
- Billing details you enter at checkout for Pro or Business (processed in the checkout flow; we do not publish the processor’s name on the site).
- PDFs and related files you upload to a cloud library, plus names, folders, and share-link settings you choose.
- Messages you send to support or security.
Information generated by use of the service
- On paid analytics: when a recipient opened a shared PDF and which pages they spent time on.
- Server logs such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and URLs, which are typical for operating a website (including through our CDN/proxy if used).
- Document metadata required to list, share, and version files (for example file name, size, and version history on Pro).
Local viewer
When you use the free viewer, the PDF is opened in your browser from your device. That file is not sent to ViewThisPDF as part of the free preview.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide the viewer, storage, sharing, editing, and support features you request.
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, and debug faults.
- Bill paid plans and send service-related messages to the email on the account.
- Understand aggregate product usage so we can operate and improve ViewThisPDF.
We do not sell personal data.
4. When we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the service, for example:
- With infrastructure and payment providers that process data on our instructions.
- With people you invite to a document or workspace, according to the sharing settings you choose.
- When required by law, or to protect ViewThisPDF, our users, or the public from harm or fraud.
If the business is transferred, information may move with it under this policy or a successor notice.
5. Storage, security, and retention
All traffic uses HTTPS. Pro and Business plans store files encrypted at rest in our cloud infrastructure, as described on the product FAQ.
Cloud-stored files follow your plan’s retention settings. After you cancel a paid plan, files remain downloadable for 30 days, after which we may delete remaining cloud data.
Free local previews are not retained by ViewThisPDF because they are not uploaded.

6. Your choices and requests
You can stop using the free viewer at any time; nothing was uploaded. You can cancel a paid plan as described in the Terms of Service.
Pro subscribers may request data export or deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will need enough information to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
If you are in a region that grants additional privacy rights (for example access, correction, or deletion under local law), use the same email. We will respond as required by applicable law.
