1. Agreement
By using ViewThisPDF you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
The service is provided by ViewThisPDF, Inc. (“ViewThisPDF”, “we”, “us”). If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. The service
ViewThisPDF provides:
- A free local viewer that opens a PDF you select in your browser without requiring an account.
- Paid cloud features (Pro and Business) that may include storage, shareable viewer links, editing and annotation, analytics, team workspaces, and related tools as described on the pricing page.
We may change features, limits, or plan details. Material changes to paid plans will be described on the website or by email to the address on the account. The live home page is the current list of advertised features and prices.
3. Accounts
An account is required for cloud storage, share links, editing, analytics, and team features. You must provide an accurate email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account.
You must be able to form a binding contract. The service is not directed at children under 13, and you may not create an account for a child under 13.
4. Subscriptions, trials, cancellation, and refunds
Paid plans are sold as follows, matching the public pricing page:
- Pro: $20 per month, billed monthly, cancel anytime. A 7-day trial may be offered at checkout.
- Business: $49 per month per seat. An annual discount may be offered.
Paid plans renew at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel through the account controls or by emailing [email protected]. After cancellation, files remain downloadable for 30 days. We may delete remaining cloud data after that period.
Refunds: if you are not satisfied with a paid purchase, contact support within 14 days of the charge. We consider refund requests in line with a fair-use approach — for example, unused trials and billing errors are more likely to be refunded than long-running accounts with substantial storage or sharing use. Chargebacks should be a last resort; contact us first so we can help.
Taxes, if any, may be added where required. We do not publish a specific payment processor name on the site; checkout is described as a secured payment flow.
5. Your documents and licenses
You retain ownership of the PDFs and other content you submit. You grant ViewThisPDF a limited license to host, transmit, display, and process that content only as needed to provide the service you requested (for example, storing a file, rendering it in the viewer, or serving a share link).
You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and share the content, and that it does not infringe someone else’s rights.
Free local previews are processed on your device. We do not claim a license to those files beyond what your browser needs to display them.
6. Acceptable use
You may use ViewThisPDF only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Upload or share malware, or content you are not allowed to distribute.
- Upload or share illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, or content that exploits minors.
- Use the service to phish, defraud, or impersonate others, or to distribute unsolicited bulk messages.
- Attempt to access other customers’ accounts, files, or non-public systems.
- Probe, scan, or overload the service in a way that degrades it for others, except for good-faith security research reported to [email protected].
- Resell the service or share account credentials except as a Business workspace allows.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules, or that we reasonably believe create legal or security risk.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep ViewThisPDF available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance, faults, third-party outages, and events beyond our control can cause downtime. These terms do not create a service-level agreement unless we have signed a separate written contract with you.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that files will never be lost, that links cannot be forwarded, or that the viewer will render every PDF perfectly.
To the extent permitted by law, ViewThisPDF and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
Our total liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50 if you use only the free viewer.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time and cancel a paid plan as described above. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue a paid plan, we will provide a reasonable opportunity to export files where practicable.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms, except where the law requires a different process for material changes to paid contracts.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws in your place of residence still apply where they cannot be waived.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally through support, the courts located in Delaware will have jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring claims in your home courts.
